Our location

Preschool education (VE)

Upon establishment IKC Frankendael We also offer preschool childcare. At De Oceanen toddler group, toddlers can explore our special (preschool-certified) groups, where they explore under the specialized guidance of two (preschool-certified) staff members. Whether in the classroom, in the hallway, in the garden, or outside the building: there's something to discover everywhere!

The group is designed to empower children to explore independently, ultimately leading to play and learning. There are spaces for independent play and areas that encourage collaborative play. There are open spaces for play, as well as corners where children feel unseen. The child's proximity to a professional contributes to the various phases of play.

Basic places can be found in all groups.

  • Think Corner (Building and Construction Corner)
  • House corner
  • Art corner
  • Discovery Corner
  • Language corner
  • Theme corner
  • Sand-water table

The VE programme is supported by the general pedagogical policy that characterises De Kleine Wereld.

Upon establishment IKC Frankendael We also offer daycare, after-school care, and after-school care, resulting in a diverse team that utilizes each other's talents and unique creativity. Together, they form a dedicated and professional team that prioritizes attention and love for both children and parents.

Location and Region

Establishment IKC Frankendael is situated in a unique location, in the heart of the dynamic Transvaal neighborhood. This is where we entered into a partnership with IKC Frankendael for the development of an Integrated Child Center. This Integrated Child Center will house not only the school but also all social services, such as childcare, specialized preschool, after-school care, and after-school care. The Integrated Child Center promotes the comprehensive development of children aged 0-13 under one roof and is a joint initiative of Frankendael (under the Amos board) and De Kleine Wereld.

Group rooms

This location, located on the ground floor of the school building, features well-equipped classrooms. Large windows overlook the courtyard and provide ample natural light, giving the building a spacious and warm feel. The various play areas and soothing colors create a homely and inviting atmosphere. A wide selection of play materials is available for children to enjoy. This location utilizes each other's strengths and talents, visiting each other's groups during the open-door policy for collaborative activities. This fosters a familiar atmosphere where all children get to know each other and can play together. The school also has a small gymnasium where children can participate in supervised physical activity and play. Each group has separate bedrooms, and each child has their own bed.

Playing outside

Adjacent to the groups is a private outdoor playground where children can ride their bikes and find various outdoor equipment. The pleasant surroundings encourage us to take the children for daily walks to the beautiful Frankendaelpark or the charming town square. Paradijsplein for an errand.

What do parents think of this location?

Our son has been going to this daycare since he was 4 months old. We are super enthusiastic about it. De Kleine Wereld, and the Laing's Nekstraat location in particular! When he was a baby, he even drank and slept better at daycare than at home. He also really enjoyed sleeping in the outdoor cribs (good for health and immunity). We considered the large, sheltered garden a huge plus. Communication is always clear, and fun activities are regularly devised, ranging from musicians playing instruments and toddler yoga to sowing plants in the garden or petting and brushing a Shetland pony. They always come up with something fun, and they work with themes. This is coupled with a solid pedagogical foundation, full of love, attention, and structure. Our son always comes home happy and enthusiastic, which means I drop him off in the morning with peace of mind. There hasn't been a single day that I have dropped him off reluctantly. Highly recommended to every parent who is still exploring their options!”

“Nice place to give/receive drawing and painting lessons..”

- Camille van Neer

Our daughter has been going to for well over a year now De Kleine Wereld and we are very satisfied. The regular group leaders at the Manengroep are sweet, dedicated, and caring. The location is spacious, with plenty of room to play indoors and outdoors, and fun extra activities are offered, such as yoga and music lessons. We take our daughter here with peace of mind.”

- Silvia K

Great childcare for our daughter. A big plus is the garden at every group where they can play outside. However, there is a lot of staff absenteeism at the moment.

Our core values

Children are unique individuals; they are strong, talented, and have a natural drive for self-development. They are curious and explore the world at their own level, at their own pace, and according to their own abilities and character.

De Kleine Wereld offers the child a complementary environment at home and at school. It is therefore crucial that we arrange the child's care in consultation with the parents. We offer an environment full of possibilities. With us, the child experiences different things and develops partly through contact with other children and adults. All this makes the care at De Kleine Wereld an essential part of education.
