For our location on Haveneiland in Amsterdam IJburg we are looking for a pedagogical professional for the vertical group (0–4 years) for three days a week. You work in a small, passionate team where everyone knows each other: colleagues, children, and parents.
Making a real difference every day
You'll guide children aged 0 to 4 in their very first discoveries. In our vertical group, the little ones learn from the older ones and vice versa, and you're the constant factor. You're creative, enjoy being outside, and know that a long hallway can also be a play area. From taking out wastepaper to an annual toddler or preschool outing with parents, your initiative counts with us.
Small, familiar and spoiled with outdoor space
Our location on Haveneiland It's small and manageable, and that's precisely what makes it so great. You know all the children, all the parents, and all your colleagues. There's a front garden with a sandbox that gets a lovely sun in the spring, and a spacious back garden. By Amsterdam standards, we're truly spoiled.
We're right on the water, and the jetties across from us are a wonderful place to catch your breath. There's a small park 200 meters away, coffee shops within walking distance, and in the summer, the ice cream parlor. A three-stop tram ride takes you to a shopping center with HEMA, Albert Heijn, and Bagels & Beans.

Our team includes colleagues who have been working here for 10, 12, and even 20 years. Not because we have to, but because it's simply a great place to be. We're all passionate about childcare and take pedagogical quality seriously. At the same time, we're proactive and regularly organize fun activities, from group outings to parent-child activities.

We offer you
A salary in scale 6 between €2.641 – €3.630 gross per month (36 hours, in accordance with the Childcare Collective Labour Agreement), depending on education and experience. On top of that, you will receive an 8% holiday allowance and an 8% end-of-year bonus, plus a 12-month contract.
You'll receive 210 hours of vacation leave per year. Travel is at our expense, €0,23 per km or a full public transport allowance, whichever you prefer. You'll accrue pension with the Healthcare & Welfare Pension Fund.
You can develop through our Development Center, with workshops and training courses of your choice. Once a year, we organize an academic evening, both educational and fun, concluded with drinks. For your vitality, we collaborate with SportCity (free sports) and Hart van de Zaak, and you can access coaching, budget advice, or mindfulness through the well-being platform Empowr.
Do you have children yourself? Then you have priority for a place at De Kleine Wereld and you will receive a 5% discount on the costs.
About your qualities
You share our passion and love for the profession. You offer children safety and security, and encourage their development. You also hold a vocational (MBO) or higher professional education (HBO) diploma, which qualifies you to work in childcare.
