IKC De Horizon

Location
Location IKC De Horizon is located in a unique location, near the new planning area "Landtong", located in the district of Groenelaan in municipality of Amstelveen. Here we have entered into cooperation with IKC De Horizon for the development of an Integral Child Center. Within this IKC, in addition to space for the school, there is space for all social facilities, such as: childcare, specialized preschool (pre-school), between-school care and After School Care (out-of-school care). The IKC stands for a broad development of children aged 0-13 years under one roof and is a joint initiative of IKC De Horizon and De Kleine Wereld.

Group rooms
This particular Location, located in the school building on the second floor, has well-appointed group rooms that are shared with the elementary school. This makes De Kleine Wereld 's groups a central and familiar environment for the children of De Horizon Elementary School. There are large windows that overlook the outdoor playground and provide plenty of light. The groups are decorated with quiet colors and plants that create a homey and cozy atmosphere. There are also various play corners where children can play with a wide choice of play materials, a stage for theater and dance and a fine open kitchen where the children sometimes prepare fun and healthy recipes under supervision. Location The Horizon pays a lot of attention to experiencing nature and makes a lot of use of the nearby vegetable garden and green surroundings.

Location De Horizon is characterized by its highly experienced and committed team who put personal attention to the child and parents first. We also offer VVE Childcare which makes for a diverse team that utilizes each other's talents and unique creativity.

Within IKC de Horizon we are expanding our offer, in addition to Extracurricular Childcare you can now come to us for toddler care.

Here we have an offer of pre-school education (VE) and Peuterarrangementen (PA) for toddlers aged 2.5 to 4 years. Within this group there is also room for regular half daycare for toddlers aged 2 to 4. The VE & PA offer is a subsidized initiative from the municipality of Amstelveen, which, like us, considers it important that children are prepared for elementary school so that they have a good start.

This particular Location is located next to the school building of IKC De Horizon where we also offer After School Care care and surrounded by the green environment of the planning area 'The Landtong'

Group areas
At the toddler group De Oceanen, toddlers can go exploring in our special (VE-recognized) toddler groups, where they explore under the specialized guidance of two (VE) qualified staff members. In the group, in the corridor, in the garden or outside Location: there is something to discover everywhere!

The group is set up so that the child can explore independently which ultimately allows the child to play and learn. There is room to play alone and there are places that encourage interaction. There are open places to play but also corners where a child feels unseen. The distance proximity of a child to a professional contributes to the different phase that play has.

Basic spots can be found in all groups.
